I received an email this summer from someone who worked in California wanting to know if I ever exhibited work in this area. She was going to be visiting for the summer and wanted to view some of my prints. Such a compliment! Showing my work in gallery space is always something that has been on my list of things I want to do, but when you are single-handedly running a business of any kind, there is not a lot of time for additional activities. I do not have any more time now that I did before, but I happened to stumble on an opening slot for a themed photography show.
The theme is that all of the photographers showing work are women. (I love this concept.) I will be showing work from my Winter in Norway collection. I went to view the space this morning, and the walls are huge. They will definitely be lending themselves favorably to large prints. My mission now is to find out the best way to print and mount the photos before the beginning of January. This will be an interesting thing considering I am out of the country the last half of December. I have some friends that I am hoping can help me with this one (you know who you are... wink, wink). The prints will be for sale and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Orange County Library System.
A reception will be held on January 16th from 7-8:30pm. The public is welcome to come and view the photography from myself and the other four women. I hear there will be live music and refreshments as a bonus!
Hope to see you there!
